Monitoring Formats
There are 5 alarm monitoring options: Dialler, GPRS, GSM, Safecom and Securitel.
DIALLER MONITORING
This type of monitoring reports signals through on your standard telephone line.
When your alarm has to communicate its information to the Monitoring Station it will pick
up your telephone line and communicate the relevant information.
Each time the alarm sends information to the monitoring station a local call charge is incurred.
In the event of the telephone lines being cut or down due to any phone line issues the Monitoring Station
will not receive any signals until the phone line is restored.
GPRS MONITORING
The GPRS System has multiple reporting paths. The primary path of reporting is through the data side of the mobile
network fed through live stream. There are no call costs associated with the alarms communicating with the
Monitoring Station. Should communications be lost, the secondary path of PSTN will continue with the security
monitoring of your home or business.
G S M MONITORING
G S M is monitoring via the digital mobile telephone network. Its coverage can be anywhere in Australia where a mobile telephone
can operate. The alarm's primary communication path can be either via your normal telephone line or by G S M with the alarm system
reverting to the other upon failure of the primary path. The alarm system is also programmable to poll at a regular interval to test
the line integrity.
SAFECOM MONITORING
Safecom is a system for monitoring alarms via a 2-way radio no telephone lines are used for this system except for remote
downloading or back-up in the case of radio failure. The system at the client’s premises is regularly polled to check its operation.
The Safecom networks are located around Mt.Dandenong, Heidelberg, Wonthaggi & Geelong it is readily available in areas the Securitel
network may not cover. From the Monitoring Station we can arm or disarm the system and control up to 3 outputs.
SECURITEL MONITORING
Telstra will be phasing out this service from 31st December 2008.
Securitel Monitoring is a service provided by Telstra designed specifically for monitoring security alarms.
The Securitel service uses your existing telephone line along with a sub audible tone across the same line.
This enables the owner of the line to be able to use the telephone line at the same time the alarm is transmitting any information
through to the Monitoring Station. The alarm system transmits all information across this line with no local call charges incurred these
are pre-paid with the monitoring service.
